Indoor Skydiving – Las Vegas

On a recent trip to Las Vegas, Rebecca and I headed over to Vegas Indoor Skydiving for some, you guessed it, indoor skydiving. What’s indoor skydiving you ask? It’s a simulated skydive but instead of jumping from an airplane you jump into a column of air being blown up from below a trampoline (of sorts) at 70-90 mph. You get the experience of freefall without the risk of actually jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.

Rebecca was more than a little excited when we got in the tunnel. She’s in pink (of course) and I’m in green.

The people at VIS were fantastic. Our “jump master”, Justin, was a great coach and got us flying very quickly (as you’ll see in the video above). And believe me, it’s harder than it looks. But if you listen to what the instructor tells you, and you actually follow those directions, you won’t be able to help but to enjoy yourself. And if my 10 year old can do it, anyone can. So give it a try. And if you’re reading this as a review of Vegas Indoor Skydiving, then take it as an extremely positive one. But make sure and ask for Justin. We watched all of the instructors before we “jumped” and Justin’s attitude and helpfulness seemed to be the best of the bunch (although I’m sure they’re all great).

They’re easy to find. Just off the Las Vegas strip near the Rio.
