On the way home from the MotoGP race in Indy I took a little detour and rode through the little town of Cowan, Tennesse. This is the town where I grew up (chronologically speaking) and while there isn’t a whole lot to do, there are a few roads that go up/down the mountains that are near the town. The main road that I used to drive several times a week runs between Cowan and Sewanee (yes, that’s how they spell it there…). It starts out looking like this:
It doesn’t look like much from that shot. But watch the video and you’ll find that it gets interesting real quick…
The roads around Sewanee and Monteagle are great. There are seven roads (not including the interstate) off of that mountain. Most are in pretty good shape. And most don’t have much traffic.
